...isn't so bad, right? I'm doing just as well on my other blog.
So. Here it is, February, and things are pretty peachy. Chris and I moved into a new apartment the day after Christmas due to problems living with his family, which is where we were before. We are MUCH happier in our adorable little townhome. He's busy with his last semester of school; he has class from noon to nine on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and then spends the rest of the week scrambling to finish his homework, and then it starts all over again. He will be incredibly excited to finish.
I stay busy working my two jobs (or three...or four...depends on the week). At the semester change, my school made me the school choir director, which means I'm charge of teaching choir to the entire school, pre-K to middle school, which isn't easy! In addtion to just teaching our program songs (oh, yeah, I'm in charge of spring program, too!) I'm trying to teach them projection and breathing and warm-ups and some music lingo. It's been a really good learning experience and a lot of fun, as well as incredibly nerve-racking!
Other than that, life stays pretty much the same. We're busy all the time with school, work, family, friends, and our two babies (our cats, Phebe and Moira, who command and demand a great deal of our time and attention). We're happy and (working to stay) healthy and WILL try to update more...:)

Monday, June 30, 2008

I kept meaning to come back and write my first real post (posting it on the day I created the blog along with two other posts seemed kind of dorky) and then got busy with life and the weekend. So here I am, back with a sort of "gratitude post."
I mentioned in my bio that I'm a newlywed. I married my husband, Chris, on June 6--not even quite a month ago! I know I'm still in the honeymoon phase (rose-colored glasses and all that) but I just had to write a post about how grateful I am for him. There have been a lot of changes in our lives the past few weeks--school ended for me, so I've been sort of drifting without the schedule I'm used to. Plus there was moving in together (and adjusting to not seeing our families as much) and changing my name and joining accounts and figuring out insurance and all that fun stuff. Through all the changes, which were a little stressful, Chris was a sweet and constant reassurance. He is one of the best people I've ever met. He is incredibly steady and reliable and emotionally mature. Not only that, but he is just so sweet. Whenever we share a drink, he lets me choose. He always asks me to meet him for his lunch break, or he comes home just because he wants to see me. He tells me I'm beautiful and that he loves me constantly. He even asks me out on actual dates even though we see each other every day!
I know the honeymoon phase will fade, but I'm so grateful that I married this cute and wonderful guy. I think I got pretty lucky.

All Good Things
So here it is.
Inspired by my dear aunt Karalee, I've become a blogger once again. I already have a livejournal (apparently the only way I can keep a steady journal is to keep it online--been going for over four years faithfully!), but this blog is for something entirely different. This one is for only the good things in my life--and there are plenty. The other one can be for ranting and raving (and often is) but this one is mostly to remind me of all the really great things I have going for me. All the good events, the AMAZING people, the blessings I often see and don't always acknowledge for long.
I'm excited. Sitting here thinking about it, I know of several posts I could make right now. I'll have no trouble filling this.
Also? REALLY excited to post pictures. It's a long and arduous process on livejournal--much simpler here.
So here goes...:)
